Now this is why I believe in functional lab testing! This was me time and time again even though I knew I still felt off.

So what’s the difference? It’s all in the ranges and focus.

»Conventional lab ranges are designed to detect disease using a much larger range and in an average for the population (and in a sick population). It also typically focuses on just one aspect or system of the body. In my experience, it just misses the mark and isn’t as comprehensive.

»Functional lab testing uses a much smaller range for what is considered OPTIMAL health. So the markers they missed in the conventional test, might show up as “out of range” in a functional test- giving some real insight. It has the ability to look at the entire body to see how it is functioning as a unit of complex systems, which is exactly what the body is…connected in one system.

This type of outlook gives me a much bigger picture of what’s going on in the body, which then allows me to create a comprehensive treatment plan and lifestyle changes that will actually make an impact- rather than trying to treat one or two symptoms.

This photo wrecked me. I saw it and told Taylor with one more angel baby right there next to Jesse 🤍

Grief hits in random moments at any time. I’ve allowed myself to really rest this past month, which I desperately needed. One thing this miscarriage has given me is more gratitude for the children I have been blessed with and a deeper love and bond with my husband.

One of my closest friends sent me a book called Held. In it the author writes “miscarriage is an incredibly human experience. Miscarriage tells us we are limited.” Our souls are housed my our flesh. We have limits. And sometimes this can be very frustrating, but when we’re unraveling we are still held. The boundaries and limitations are surrendered in Christ, which actually then set us free.

The one whom all things were made, is the one who holds it all together.

Anxiety problems, behavior disorders, and depression are the most commonly diagnosed mental disorders in children and it’s only increasing.

There’s a lot that contribute to this, and screens are one of them.

Im not preaching to never use screens- we have them and are selective. But behavior issues in my kids are absolutely linked to it. They have a much healthier demeanor when they’re outside in nature exploring. 🌵🌿🌾

First of all, how dare you.

Second of all, you have know idea how much I love and care deeply for my children. The sacrifices I make daily. I will always want to feel needed by them, but guess what? That’s not how life works. They’ll have to walk their walk, fight their fight and take responsibility for their own actions. I’m not teaching them to quit when it gets hard. I’m teaching them perseverance. And when it comes to boys- they need some dangerous play and freedom. That’s how they are WIRED. it’s actually healthy for them, as much as it terrifies me.

And thank you for teaching me how to never second guess my intuitive mothering for my own children, but wow the nerve. ✌🏼

I promise they’ll love it. Plus it’s fool proofed and you should have these items already at home which makes this one THAT much easier! 🥇 they called it snow, bubbles, lava, honey… puffers 😆

OK, grab a clear cup of water. Add some food dye then pour in your oil. then slowly add your salt. I have them take their science notebooks and ask them what they think will happen (hypothesis) then after they will draw or write out their observations. The steps can vary, depending on the age.

LESSON:
-Density
-Mixtures/solvents
-artistic design

In quick summary: oil and water don’t mix due to unlike molecules. They’ll separate no matter how much we try. salt has a greater density than water so when it’s poured into the water, it falls through the layer of oil, grabbing some of the it as it falls to the bottom. but the oil is lighter and still won’t mix, finding its way back to the top.

and right now when they’re young I feel like it’s easier to navigate that process.. but as they spread their wings and grow, I have to let go and trust in the process and that’s what scares me the most.
