The autism conversation requires much nuance. We will never find the one thing that causes it because for most children, it isn’t just ONE smoking gun. It’s the accumulation of multiple contributing factors. Yes Tylenol can play a big role (if you want to know how, I’m happy to share), but I think it was a bit of a scapegoat because there is SO much more to it.

Some think this recent announcement is a huge win and validation. Others are still frustrated by it- leaving many unanswered questions.

And you should be allowed to ask those questions…
I think it’s important that we do.

We should be able to look into environmental, biological, and societal changes without being silenced or politicized. It’s out of love for these families and deep concern for the health of humanity as a whole.

Maybe we should ask- why did Tylenol state that they don’t recommend using any of their products while pregnant, yet doctors are recommending them to pregnant women? Are we really getting the full truth or informed consent when we step into doctors offices?

Collectively, we need to do better on both “sides” of this. Also, please stop popping Tylenol just because your hate for a man or party runs deep.

• Seed oils are extremely high in omega-6 fatty acids, which in excess promote inflammation in the body.
• A disrupted omega-6 to omega-3 ratio has been linked to chronic issues like:
• Hormonal imbalances
• Autoimmunity
• Infertility
• Heart disease

2. They’re Highly Processed and Often Rancid
• The refining process uses high heat and chemicals that damage the fats and create oxidized lipids.
• These oxidized fats can damage cells, DNA, and mitochondria over time.

3. Contribute to Metabolic Dysfunction
• Studies link excess seed oil consumption with insulin resistance, weight gain, and thyroid suppression.
• They’re often found in ultra-processed foods, fast foods, and even “healthy” snacks.

4. Interfere with Hormone Health
• PUFAs can block the conversion of cholesterol to pregnenolone (the “mother hormone”), interfering with natural hormone production.
• This is especially important for women trying to balance hormones or optimize fertility.

5. Stored in Your Body for a Long Time
• Unlike natural fats, these oils get stored in fat tissue and can stay in the body for months, continuing to fuel inflammation.

• Canola (rapeseed) oil

• Safflower oil
